Here’s who you named Centre Daily Times Boys and Girls Athlete of the Week for May 9-14

One State College athlete and one Philipsburg-Osceola athlete were named the Centre Daily Times Boys and Girls Athletes of the Week for May 9-14.

State College boys lacrosse’s Zach Paterno won with 60% of the vote (529 votes). Bellefonte track and field’s William Spratt took second with 21% of the vote (187 votes) and State College track and field’s Sean Adams placed third with 11% of the vote (97 votes).

Paterno finished with 18 saves in a 15-11 win over Palmyra on May 9. He followed up with a 14-save day against Carlisle in a 12-11 victory on May 11.

Philipsburg-Osceola track and field’s Kalista Butler won with 53% of the vote (1,274 votes), leading Bellefonte’s Sienna Barnhart, who had 43% of the vote (1,029 votes) and Bald Eagle’s Katelyn Smitchko, who placed third with 3% of the vote (67 votes).

Butler had a javelin throw of 113-10.00, earning her first place in the event at the Mountain League Championships.
