District 6 basketball playoffs are here. Here are Centre County teams’ schedules, results
Eight Centre County basketball teams made it to the District 6 playoffs this season.
No. 3 State College girls basketball began with a valiant effort against No. 2 Mifflin County in the District 6 Class 6A semifinals, falling 64-49 in overtime on Feb. 20. No. 9 Philipsburg-Osceola boys basketball traveled to take on No. 8 Richland and lost 73-35 in the District 6 Class 3A opening round. No. 3 Saint Joseph’s advanced in the District 6 Class 1A quarterfinals by beating No. 6 Penns Manor 73-45 on Feb. 21.
No. 3 seed Bellefonte boys basketball defeated No. 2 Selinsgrove 49-38 on Feb. 22. No. 8 seed Bald Eagle Area girls basketball lost 55-18 to No. 1 seed Westmont on Feb. 23 and No. 5 Penns Valley lost 57-50 to No. 4 Huntingdon in the District 6 Class 3A quarterfinals.
