What to know about the Happy Valley Hardball Classic, a new tournament coming to Medlar Field
Three Centre County teams will be playing at Medlar Field this season.
Bald Eagle, Bellefonte and State College will all take part in the inaugural Happy Valley Hardball Classic on April 20. The three programs will be joined by Dubois Central Catholic in the four-team tournament that will include two games per team.
Bellefonte and Bald Eagle will kick off the event with a matchup that begins at 9 a.m. Each of the two teams won a state title in Medlar Field last year and are longtime rivals.
State College and Dubois Central Catholic will follow that game at noon, with the two losing teams playing in a consolation game at 3 p.m. and the two winning teams battling for the championship at 6 p.m.
Admission for the Happy Valley Hardball Classic will be free, with food and beverages available to purchase in the ballpark. Prepaid parking in Porter North and Jordan East will be $5.50 through the ParkMobile app. Due to the U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team Trials taking place on the same day at the Bryce Jordan Center, day-of parking will cost $40.
