Coach Terry Glunt became the Penns Valley boys’ basketball program’s winningest coach Thursday night with the Rams’ 68-62 victory over Bald Eagle Area.

The win was No. 172 of Glunt’s career, moving him ahead of the 171 recorded by Dave Edwards.

“It was a fabulous evening.” said Glunt. “We had balanced scoring, a great Pink Out crowd, and it was just all-around great.”

After the teams were deadlocked 31-31 at the break, the Rams (11-3) pulled away from the Eagles.

“Bald Eagle really took it to us.” Glunt said of the first half. “We made some adjustments and our defense picked it up in the second half.”

The Rams finished with four scoring in the double digits. Zach Engle led with 18 points, followed by Sean Beamesderfer (17), Logan Pearce (16), and Logan Johnson (14).

BEA also featured a balanced scoring attack with Trey Butterworth’s 17 points and Brandon Gettig’s 14, while A.J Onder and Noah Chambers added 12 each.

Penns Valley (11-3) will travel to Cambria Heights on Monday, while BEA will host Philipsburg-Osceola on Friday.
