Bellefonte aims to build on last year’s gymnastics success
The Bellefonte girls’ gymnastics team is coming off a third-place finish at the 2015 District championships and a bronze medal team finish in their division. The team hopes to grow this season as they return six letterwinners. The team’s only loss came from 2015 are graduates Grace Young and Olivia Williams.
Senior leader Maepearl St George will lead the team in all-around, along with Brianna Hovie and Kendra Wakefield. Lady Red Raider Kelsie Richner will lead in the vault and floor exercise. Kiara MacMath will be on the balance beam and floor. Rounding out the team will be Marissa Cameron on the uneven bars, beam and floor.
Though the team doesn’t bring any newcomers this season, this will be head coach Molly William’s first year. She and assistant coach Kelsey Wellar look forward to what the season has to offer.
“We have a great senior leader this year Maepearl St George. We are excited to see her have a great senior season and to lead the team to a great season.” Williams said.
