Huntingdon handles Philipsburg-Osceola
The Philipsburg-Osceola wrestling team fell 42-21 to Huntingdon on Thursday night.
Philipsburg-Osceola’s Jordan Smith pinned Brady Shope at 285 pounds, and the Mounties’ Braedon Butler pinned Hunter Rhone at 106 pounds.
Levi Hughes, Dakota Weitoish and Brandon Anderson won by decision for Philipsburg-Osceola.
Hughes earned a 5-3 win over Huntingdon’s Tyler Scott at 145. Weitoish picked up a 5-1 win over Huntingdon’s Seth Baney at 152, and Anderson earned a 1-0 win over Landon Fisher at 195.
The Bearcats won the first four bouts of the match — at 120 pounds, 126, 132 and 138 — to take a 21-0 lead. Huntingdon won by forfeit at 138 pounds.
Huntingdon teammates Izac Benson and Collin Glorioso pinned both of their opponents at 126 and 132 pounds, respectively. Huntingdon’s Warren Shope won by decision at 120.
At 160 pounds, Jon Wagner of Huntingdon won by decision. Huntingdon’s Ian Klinger won by decision at 170 pounds.
For the Bearcats at 182, Jacob Oliver pinned his opponent. Logan Fisher (220) won by decision and Jacob Wagner (113) pinned his opponent to round out the victory.
