Fye, Dreibelbis pin down wins at Manheim tournament

Bald Eagle Area’s Josh Fye and State College’s Cory Dreibelbis each won titles in their weight classes at the Manheim Lions Holiday Wrestling Tournament held Tuesday and Wednesday.

Fye pinned State College’s Jack Vandevort in 3:56 in the semifinals and won by injury default over Shikellamy’s Jeremy Bacon in the final to earn the title at 285 pounds.

Dreibelbis captured first place at 195, earning a 4-1 decision over Ieuan Israel of J.W. Robinson in the final bout.

State College finished third as a team with a score of 131, and Bald Eagle Area finished 10th with 76.5 in the 15-team field. Easton took first with 215.

For State College, Pete Haffner (220) took second, Vandevort (285) finished third, Adam Stover (113) placed fourth, Trey Millward (120) took fifth, Dalton Barger (145) finished fifth, Ian Barr (152) took fifth and Cole Urbas (170) placed fifth.

For Bald Eagle Area, Seth Koleno (132) took fourth, Coby Bainey (138) placed fourth and Garrett Rigg (126) finished fifth.
