Ilgen, Ironside lead Lady Rams to rout of Lady Bison

Maci Ilgen scored a career-high 23 points and Mackenzie Ironside had 19 to lead the Penns Valley girls’ basketball team to a 70-42 win over Clearfield on Friday night.

Ilgen scored 21 of her 23 points in the first and third quarters for the Lady Rams, who finished with 27 points as a team in the first quarter and 22 as a team in the third. Penns Valley (8-3) led by 22 points going into the fourth quarter.

Ironside made her return from injury and knocked down three 3-pointers.

“I thought we shot the ball really well tonight,” Penns Valley coach Karen McCaffrey said. “We didn’t force shots.”

Kourtney Beamesderfer had four assists, and Alicia Houser finished with four steals for Penns Valley.

The Lady Rams host Juniata Valley on Monday.
