Karpenko wins 2 events for State College
State College’s Veronika Karpenko won two events at the State College Invitational on Thursday.
Karpenko finished first in the long jump (17-3.25) and won the triple jump (37-8.5).
Haley Crawford won the 200 (25.9). Taylor Givens placed third (16-4.25) in the long jump.
Crawford and Givens tied for second with Harrisburg’s Ty’Asia Dansbury (7.8) in the 60. Rachel Wylie was second (9.2) in the 60-meter hurdles. State College’s Jordan Bair was third in the shot put (35-8.5).
State College’s Jordi Rohrbach won the 800 (2:29.4), followed by Lucia Person of St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy (2:32.2) and State College’s Julia Neely (2:32.7).
State College’s Natasha Fedkina placed second in the 400 (61.2). State College’s Kinsey Thompson finished first (10-8) in the pole vault, followed by teammate Lyndsey Reed (8-8).
In the mile, State College’s Emma Simon finished first (5:45.5), Bellefonte’s Anya Hoaglund took second (5:47.9) and Penns Valley’s Malarie Yoder was third (5:52.4).
In the 3,000, State College’s Cailin Saylor took first (11:02.7), Sera Mazza of St. Joseph’s placed second (11:05.9) and Yoder was third (11:44.9).
State College’s Hannah Yoder and Bellefonte’s Olivia Spratt tied for second in the high jump (4-9).
