Penns Valley wrestlers win 1 at tournament

Penns Valley won one match in Saturday’s Juniata team Duals. They beat Susquehanna Township 41-24, and fell to Selinsgrove (36-34), Philipsburg-Osceola (42-27), Saucon Valley (41-24), and Juniata (36-30).

Darren Yearick, Curtis Decker and Isaac Bierly all went undefeated. Yearick and Decker were 5-0 while Birely finished 4-0.

“Darren and Curt beat some very good wrestlers and sound matches. Isaac also fought through an injury,” Penns Valley coach Joel Brinker said.

Freshman Baylor Shunk and senior Allen Cain added 4-1 records.

Penns Valley (5-8) will host Central on Thursday.
