Friberg leads State College boys’ basketball to victory
Sparked by a trio of 3-pointers in the first quarter, State College’s Drew Friberg caught fire on Friday night, pushing the Little Lions to a 62-52 win over Central Dauphin East.
Friberg led all scorers with 27 points, 11 of which were scored in the opening quarter. Cooper Gulley was effective from the perimeter, too, hitting a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter and finishing with 12 points.
Tommy Sekunda and Keaton Ellis also chipped in eight and seven points, respectively.
After snapping a three-game losing streak, Friday was the Little Lions’ second consecutive win. State College is now 5-8 on the season, and will look to make it three straight victories when it faces Cumberland Valley at home on Tuesday.
