Penns Valley boys basketball tops St. Joe’s
Ben Alexander’s 15 points, nine of which came from perfect 3 for 3 shooting from the perimeter, propelled Penns Valley to a 55-42 win over St. Joe’s on Thursday night.
“Ben shot well, we shot well from the outside in the first quarter,” said Penns Valley head coach Terry Glunt. “We were down but battled back to take the lead...they came out with a lot of energy and had a lead on us in the first quarter, but we finished that one strong.”
St. Joe’s scored 20 fourth-quarter points, but couldn’t overcome a 20-point deficit. Penns Valley’s Logan Pearce complemented Alexander with nine points and was also 3 for 3 from the 3-point line. Glunt sat many of his top players in the fourth quarter.
“We have a game tomorrow night, so we rested a lot of our starters in the final quarter,” said Glunt.
Penns Valley hosts Huntingdon Friday night at 7:30.
