Knisely’s free throws seal Bellefonte overtime win

Hunter Knisely hit a pair of free throws with just seconds to spare, leading Bellefonte to a 57-56 overtime win over Central on Saturday.

Knisely’s two free-throws with five seconds remaining in overtime put the Red Raiders up by one point and clinched Bellefonte’s third win in its last four games.

Red Raiders coach Darin Hazel was pleased with his team’s efforts.

“I’m proud with how we finished the game,” Hazel said. “Everybody was involved.”

It looked like Bellefonte would win a close one in regulation, but Central’s Brandon Buchart nailed a game-tying field goal with two seconds remaining.

Knisely came up with the heroics, though, as the two free throws gave him 13 points on the day.

Tyler Kreger led Bellefonte in scoring with 14 points, followed by Kellen Moss and Bryce Steiner, who scored 10 each.

The Red Raiders (5-12) travels to Juniata on Tuesday.
