Penns Valley wrestling posts three placewinners

Penns Valley placed 11th out of 35 competing teams, and had three placewinners at Saturday’s Grove City Invite.

The day was highlighted by Curtis Decker’s performance, taking first place at 138 pounds. Decker defeated Ringgold’s Doug Gubenburr with a 7-6 win by decision.

Meanwhile, Darren Yearick finished second place at 113 pounds, falling to Harbor Creek’s Nick Oosperkamp by a 6-5 decision. Jared Hurd also placed second at 145 pounds after being edged by Meadvill’s Kyle Luben in a 2-0 decision.

Penns Valley’s next match is Tuesday at Tyrone.
