Bald Eagle Area falls in overtime to Tyrone
Bald Eagle Area made up a nine-point halftime deficit to take Tyrone into overtime before falling 77-72 on Wednesday.
“We had a nice run and even pulled ahead,” BEA coach Bill Butterworth said. “We missed a buzzer beater at the end to put it into overtime.”
Tyrone gained a three-point lead with a minute to go in overtime, forcing the Eagles to foul.
BEA seniors Trey Butterworth and A.J. Onder scored 30 points and 21 points, respectively. Noah Chambers had 14 rebounds to go with his nine points and Brandon Barnyak had eight assists for the Eagles.
Bald Eagle Area will host Bellefonte on Friday for its Senior Night and Coaches vs. Cancer Night. The Eagles’ 2006 district championship team also will be recognized.
