Philipsburg-Osceola edges Clearfield in girls’ basketball

Haylee Hayward scored a team-high 16 points and made key plays late to help Philipsburg-Osceola to a 51-49 win over Clearfield on Friday night.

Hayward’s bucket gave the Lady Mounties a 50-47 lead. After Clearfield scored, Hayward hit 1 of 2 free throws with about 10 seconds left and Philipsburg-Osceola held on for the win.

Cheyenne Bone added 14 points and Halle Herrington had 13 for the Lady Mounties.

Rachel Glenny scored 20 points to lead Clearfield.

P-O (7-13) will play at Huntingdon on Wednesday.
