State College boys’ and girls’ basketball to play in district title games

The District 6 Class AAA and AAAA boys’ and girls’ basketball brackets were released Thursday.

The State College boys’ and girls’ teams both earned the top seed and a spot in the championship game in Class AAAA.

The Little Lions will face the winner of a semifinal matchup between No. 2 Central Mountain and No. 3 Altoona. The final will be Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. at Mount Aloysius.

The Lady Little Lions will take on the winner of a semifinal matchup between No. 2 Altoona and No. 3 Hollidaysburg. The title game is set for Feb. 27 at 12:30 p.m. at Mount Aloysius.

The Bellefonte boys’ basketball team received the No. 7 seed and will face No. 2 Somerset in the first round Monday at a site and time to be determined. No. 4 Forest Hills will take on No. 5 Huntingdon, and No. 3 Johnstown will play No. 6 Bedford in other first-round matchups. No. 1 Hollidaysburg received a first-round bye.

The boys’ Class AAA championship game will be Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Mount Aloysius.
