State College relay team takes first at Millrose Games

State College track and field won the Millrose Games Eastern Boys 4x800, while the Eastern Girls 4x200 relay team posted a season-best time.

The boys’ 4x800 squad of Owen Wing, Tony Degleris, Nick Feffer and Alex Milligan secured a time of 7:51.59, which was 1.54 seconds better than the second-place finisher, West Islip (N.Y.).

The girls’ 4x200 relay team of Rachel Wylie, Zoe Wicks, Taylor Givens and Haley Crawford recorded a time of 1:43.07.

Prior to the Millrose Games, two new indoor school records were set at State College’s invitational meet on Thursday. Erik Ebel recorded a distance of 57 feet, 1 inch in the shot put, and the boys’ 4x200 relay team of Kellin Valentine, Noah Osterling, Josh Rickley and Tristan Daman had a time of 1:30.8.

Next up for State College track & field is the state championships at Penn State on Sunday, Feb. 28.
