State College boys’ tennis wins home opener
The State College boys’ tennis team continued its early-season winning ways, capturing a 5-0 win over Central Dauphin East in its home opener on Wednesday.
In singles play, Little Lions’ Matt Wherley defeated Ryan Nguyen (6-0, 6-2), Nick Vanden blanked Jake Wallace (6-0, 6-0), and Fernando del Castillo handled Andrew Rife (6-0, 6-0).
In doubles action, State College’s duos of Owen Lloyd-Terrence Li and Matt Bristol-Jack Craig won their matches easily (both 6-1, 6-0).
The Little Lions (2-0) travel to Northern on Wednesday.
