Penns Valley baseball falls to Juniata

Juniata rode a big first inning to a 15-3 win over Penns Valley on Thursday.

The host Indians plated 11 runs in the first. When the frame ended, they had nine hits, walked twice and capitalized on three errors. In the fourth, they tacked on four runs for the final score.

“I told the team ‘You have games like this and you need to have a short memory,’” Penns Valley coach Jon Bowersox said. “We need to practice harder next week. This was only one game of many more to come.”

The Rams’ three runs came in the third on Chase Collison’s two-run triple and Hunter Homan’s RBI single to left field. Allen Cain singled after John Montresor had walked to start the rally.

The Rams return home to face Bald Eagle Area on Tuesday.
