Bellefonte baseball falls

Put in an early hole by a three-run Huntingdon first inning, Bellefonte dropped its second-straight game, losing 5-3 on Tuesday.

Tyler Kreger, Darren Heeman and Tanner Helms scored Bellefonte’s runs, all of which were unearned. Huntingdon had four errors on the game.

But Nick Holesa and Jared Showalter’s hitting helped the Bearcats overcome their defensive errors. Holesa was 2 of 3 with an RBI, while Showalter chipped in a two-run triple.

The winner pitcher for Huntingdon was Chris Alleman, while the losing pitcher was Jeremy Warefield. The Red Raiders starter allowed five runs (three earned) over five innings of work.

Bellefonte (0-2) hosts DuBois on Wednesday.
