St. Joseph’s has record-setting day at track meet

Mary Elliott and the 3,200-meter relay team each set school records Saturday for the highlight performances at the Mount Lebanon Invitational for St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy.

Elliott turned in a time of 13.69 seconds in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash, cutting a half second off the program mark, then was clocked in 14.06 to take sixth in the finals. Elliott also took fifth in the long jump with a school-record-setting leap of 14 feet, 11 3/4 inches, and placed fifth in the 200 as well.

The 4x800 team of Lucia Person, Kate Ott, Lindsey Carmack and Jordan Wiser sliced 15 seconds off the school record with their time of 10:26.

Also for the Lady Wolves, Sera Mazza and Julia Cusatis were fouth and fifth, respectively, in the 1,600. Wiser was sixth in the 800, and Person, Ott and Grace Cousins were second, fourth and sixth, respectively in the 3,200. The 4x400 relay team of Cusatis, Greta Miller, Mazza and Maggie Urban also took fourth.

On the boys’ side, Lance Hamilton was third in the long jump at 18-6, while the 4x800 team of Charles Ross, Eli Urban, Andy Rogan and Michael Peters ran 9:18 to finish third as well. Taking fourth were Urban in the 3,200 and Peters in the 800. Kaelan Wright (1,600) and the 4x400 team of Jacob Cusatis, Wright, Peters and Max Wortman also placed sixth.
