Anya Hoaglund had a pair of second-place finishes, and Dion Furfaro had a runner-up result of his own, to highlight Bellefonte’s performance at the 32nd annual Christopher Newport University Captain’s Classic track and field meet on Friday and Saturday.
Competing in less than ideal conditions with wind and rain, pole vault and boys’ high jump events were not held because of the poor weather.
In the Blue Division, Hoaglund posted her second-place results in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs with times of 5:39.55 and 12:12.90, respectively. She also joined Jessica Book, Madeline Durn and Samantha McCarthy for a third-place result in 10:25.41 in the 3,200 relay.
Book also took third in the 800 in 2:45.86.
