St. Joseph’s baseball edges Penn Cambria
St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy’s Dillon Roettger scored the game-winning run to lift his team to a 1-0 victory over Penn Cambria on Wednesday.
Roettger entered as a courtesy runner for Justin Beck, who reached base after being hit by a pitch. Nick Shearer put the ball in play, and Roettger scored the game-winning run.
Wolves pitcher Bryce Herman earned the win, throwing 5 1/3 scoreless innings. Michael Forstmeier struck out five in 1 2/3 scoreless innings for the save.
St. Joseph’s returns to action at Moshannon Valley on Friday.
