Tara Baney’s performance in the pitching circle and at the plate led Bellefonte softball over Hollidaysburg 3-0 on Tuesday.
Baney dominated Hollidaysburg’s hitters, throwing a complete-game, one-hitter. The junior faced the minimum 21 batters and recorded nine strikeouts in the process.
Baney helped her own cause in the fourth inning, hitting a solo home run to open the scoring.
Her teammates provided a couple insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning. Jenna Ault scored on a passed ball, and Samantha Gates chipped in an RBI in her lone at-bat of the evening.
