Penns Valley beats Claysburg-Kimmel in baseball

Penns Valley rallied back from an early six-run deficit to beat Claysburg-Kimmel 12-8 on Wednesday.

The Rams allowed six unearned runs in the third inning, but answered with six runs in the fourth to tie the game.

Claysburg-Kimmel took the lead again in the top of the sixth inning with two runs, but once again Penns Valley rallied. Corby Woodring, Chase Collison, Dillon Steiger and Keith Butts all had clutch hits in the the team’s six-run bottom of the sixth.

Penns Valley’s victory was secured by Allen Cain’s three-run triple into center field.

Rams pitcher Andrew Tobias earned the win.

Penns Valley will host Clearfield on Friday.
