Collison gives Penns Valley walk-off baseball win over Clearfield

Chase Collison’s walk-off RBI single in the eighth inning gave Penns Valley a 4-3 victory over Clearfield on Friday.

Penns Valley loaded the bases with singles from Jon Montressor and Keith Butts and an intentional walk to Corby Woodring in the eighth. Collison, who finished the game 3 for 4, hammered a line drive down the left field line to plate the winning run.

The senior also earned the win, pitching the final two innings in relief of starter Lucas Sharer.

“Best all-around performance my team has played all year,” Ram coach Jon Bowersox said. “We needed this win bad to get some momentum going into next week. We play four days in a row and three are on the road.”

Penns Valley will start the long week by traveling to Tyrone on Monday.
