Penns Valley girls win 3 events at Lock Haven Invitational track meet

Penns Valley led Centre County with a three first-place finishes at the Lock Haven Invitational on Friday.

The Lady Rams were paced by Destiny Andrus. The senior finished first in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. She also helped the 400 relay team to a win, along with Marissa Stecko, Maci Ilgen and Isabella Culver.

Culver, a freshman, also won the 400-meter dash with her time of 59.94 seconds, which is below the qualifying standard for the PIAA Championships.

Lady Ram Malarie Yoder was second in the 2,000 (8:31.23). Teammate Rebecca Bierly was fifth in both the 1,600 (5:36.07) and 3,200 (11:53.67).

The top result for St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy was a third-place finish from Jordan Wiser in the 2,000 with a time of 8:37.28.

Emma Thompson was 19th in the discus and 20th in the shot put to highlight Bald Eagle Area’s day.

BEA and Penns Valley next compete in the Mountain League Championships at Clearfield on Wednesday.
