Depth shines for State College boys’ volleyball

Contributions across the lineup propelled State College to a 3-0 win (25-23, 25-14, 25-19) over Carlisle on Tuesday.

“To have a three-game sweep was really important for us on a lot of different levels,” State College coach Kim-Li Kimel said.

Dealing with injuries at key positions, the Little Lions found their recourse in the depth of their lineup. Justin Turenne finished with three blocks and came up big in multiple areas, Kimel said. Senior setter Brandon Kuruzovich anchored the lineup, finishing with 24 assists and five digs.

“They needed to go out and fight and win,” Kimel said.

State College (4-4) heads to Cumberland Valley on Thursday.
