Bellefonte softball sweeps doubleheader with Somerset

Tara Baney hit two home runs and earned a pair of wins in the circle to lead Bellefonte to a doubleheader sweep of Somerset on Saturday.

In the first game, Baney pitched a complete game in the Lady Red Raiders’ 7-4 win. Baney, who finished 3 for 4 with a double and a home run, also scored three runs. Rianna Trexler went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs for the Lady Red Raiders.

In the second game, Baney earned the win and Rachael Bernier picked up the save as Bellefonte held on for an 8-7 win.

The Lady Red Raiders took control with a seven-run third inning and took an 8-4 lead into the seventh inning.

Baney had a home run and drove in a pair of runs, Angela Capparelle had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs and Alexis Wetzler drove in two runs.
