Philipsburg-Osceola earns pair of wins in softball

Philipsburg-Osceola beat Altoona 4-1 and earned a 5-4 win over Moniteau in the Mountaineer Tournament on Saturday.

Lady Mounties pitcher Kamryn Harris threw a complete game in the win over Altoona, allowing one run and five hits while striking out five. Chelsey Henry and Maggie Peck both went 2 for 3 with home runs for P-O.

Philipsburg-Osceola took a 5-2 lead after scoring three runs in the fifth inning and held off Moniteau in the final two innings. Peck pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief to pick up the win and with 2 for 4 with another home run.

Haylee Hayward went 2 for 2 with a double and a home run for the Lady Mounties.
