Altoona hands State College boys’ tennis first loss

Altoona handed State College its first loss of the season in a 5-2 defeat, snapping State College’s 14-match winning streak.

“Altoona came ready to play and we were a bit flat from the start,” Little Lion coach Jane Borden said. “Unfortunately, we were forced into several last minute line-up changes today and that combined with our low energy was not a good combination.”

State College’s lone victors were singles player Nick Vanden and the doubles pairing of Owen Lloyd and Terrence Li.

The Little Lions (14-1) will play in the District 6 doubles tournament on Friday and Saturday, represented by Li and Lloyd, along with another team which hasn’t been named.

Their next team match will be on Monday when they host DuBois.
