Central drops Penns Valley baseball

Despite matching Central in hits and seeing the Scarlet Dragons make five errors, Penns Valley could not take advantage in a 9-4 loss Monday.

The Dragons blew the game open with a five-run sixth inning.

Luke Snyder took the loss and Corby Woodring collected a pair of hits and knocked in a run for the Rams (4-10) in the first of four games this week.

“Poor base running and not taking advantage of five Central errors was our downfall tonight,” Rams coach Jon Bowersox said. “We killed ourselves on the base path tonight. Plus, letting 11 men on base even made matters worse. We play three more games this week so we better turn it around in a hurry.”

Penns Valley will host Philipsburg-Osceola on Tuesday.
