State College boys’ track wins Mid Penn Commonwealth

The State College boys’ track and field team clinched the Mid Penn Conference Commonwealth Division championship with a 98-52 victory over Chambersburg on Tuesday.

“We’ve been working towards this all season and tonight we finally put it to rest,” said State College coach Steve Shisler.

Senior Kellin Valentine led the charge with three individual wins. He won the triple jump (43-1/2), long jump (21-3) and high jump (6-6) to score 25 points.

Tristan Daman was a double individual winner for the Little Lions with victories in the 100 and 200.

Other State College winners included: Noah Osterling (400), Alex Milligan (800) and Griffin Thompson (pole vault).

The Little Lions finished the dual meet season with a 7-0 record.

They will compete at the District 6 Class AAA Championships in Altoona on May 19.
