Triebold’s 2-hitter paces State College baseball to win

Tucker Triebold tossed a two-hitter Thursday afternoon as the State College baseball team knocked off Mifflin County 3-0.

Triebold struck out three and walked two, giving up only two singles to Isaiah Kearns as the Little Lions (9-8, 8-6 Mid Penn) closed league play. State College finished tied for second in the Commonwealth Division standings, while the Huskies (13-6, 9-5) took first.

Dalton Barger and Tyson Cooper had two hits each. Zach Ripka had an RBI single in the first inning, with the other two runs scoring in the fourth when Greg Copenhaver doubled and scored on a Cooper single, and Chris Adams added an RBI double.

Kyle Peachey took the loss.

State College pays a visit to Central Mountain on Friday.
