State College baseball’s one-hitter ousts Altoona
State College hurlers Mason Mellott and Bailey Ishler combined for a one-hitter, shutting out Altoona en route to a 2-0 win on Monday.
Mellott was the starter and earned the win, tossing four innings of one-hit ball and striking out six.
Ishler finished out the last three innings and was credited with the save. He walked four, but struck out five and didn’t allow a hit.
Chris Adams led the Little Lions at the plate with two hits and the team’s lone RBI. He also scored a run.
The win concludes State College’s regular season.
