The State College girls’ rugby team capped off an undefeated season with a state championship in a 19-7 victory over Downingtown on Sunday.
The teams were tied 7-7 at halftime before State College took control and closed them out for the rest of the game.
After the half, Sarah Mosier finished an attacking series with a try in the 55th minute.
Emy Booz’s two conversions gave State College its final points.

The Lady Little Lions found their way to the championship match after a 68-5 win over North Penn on Saturday.
State College travels to Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., for the single-school national championship. They will face Colorado state champion Summit High School in the quarterfinal round.
Should State College win, it will face either Wisconsin state champion Catholic Memorial High or Tennessee state champion McMinn County.
