State College’s Kelly Vanden named CDT’s Female Athlete of the Week

State College tennis player Kelly Vanden is the Centre Daily Times female Athlete of the Week.

Vanden, who is the No. 1 singles player, went 3-0 this week as the Lady Little Lions went 2-1, beating Mechanicsburg (3-2, Wednesday) and Cedar Cliff (5-0, Thursday).

She swept her first two opponents of the week. However, Vanden needed to go three sets with some extra games against Hershey’s Heidi Louise Wingert in a 4-6, 7-5, 10-8 win.
