Penns Valley’s Aaron Tobias is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.

His Rams football team didn’t win on Friday night against Bellefonte — but PV couldn’t have asked for much more out of Tobias. The sophomore signal-caller arguably put together the best passing performance of the season by any quarterback in the area. In fact out of State College, Bald Eagle Area, Philipsburg-Osceola, Bellefonte and St. Joseph’s, he’s the only player to throw for more than 300 yards in a game.

Against the Red Raiders on Friday, he finished 25 of 42 for 343 yards and two touchdowns. His team lost, 35-20, but Penns Valley put up a fight that few expected. The Rams even led at halftime.

Tobias split time at quarterback up until two games ago. Now, he’s already near the top of the area passing leaderboards.
