The four members of State College’s 3,200-meter relay team are the Centre Daily Times’ Female Athletes of the Week.
Normally, we stick with one athlete — but the Lady Little Lions set an impressive mark as a team, and every girl is responsible. At the Dr. Sanders Invitational in New York on Saturday, the four ran to a time of 9 minutes, 29.95 seconds — the fastest time by a team from Pennsylvania so far this year.
The four responsible are Kileigh Kane, Elly Haushalter, Emma Simon and Esther Seeland. They finished the race in sixth place, but the invitation-only meet drew teams and professional athletes from across the nation.
Before State College’s run, the top mark in Pennsylvania was held by Strath Haven in 9:31.15.
