Poll results: Penns Valley cross-country runner selected as CDT Athlete of the Week
A Penns Valley cross-country runner was selected as this week’s boys’ athlete of the week.
Dilon Reilly finished with the 14th fastest time for a junior (18:44) at the PIAA Foundation Invitational on Sept. 23 in Hershey in the Class A race. He took 57% of the vote in the poll that covered Sept. 18-24, with 5,365 votes.
Here’s a look at the other nominees:
Kyle Yangula, Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy soccer: Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy boys’ soccer defeated Northern Cambria 11-0, with Kyle Yangula — a senior and a captain — scoring five goals for the team in the victory.
Liam Halterman, Bellefonte football: Halterman — a member of the team’s leadership council as a junior — led the way for the Raiders on Sept. 22, completing 13 of his 19 pass attempts for 150 yards and a touchdown through the air, along with 70 yards and a touchdown on 15 rushing attempts.
Parker Lamb, Philipsburg-Osceola football and golf: Lamb plays football and golf for the Mounties. On Sept. 22, he ran the ball seven times for the football team, tallying 74 yards and a touchdown. He came in second in the poll, with 38% of the vote, or 3,543 votes.
