State College’s Kayla Hawbaker is Jan. 18 CDT athlete of the week

State College girls’ basketball player Kayla Hawbaker is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.

The junior guard scored a career-high 20 points on Tuesday, propelling the Lady Little Lions to a 72-32 drubbing of Carlisle. Hawbaker had 16 of those points in the first half alone.

Hawbaker followed that performance up with 10 points in a key 52-42 win at Central Dauphin East on Friday.

Hawbaker and State College (10-2, 6-2 Mid Penn) take the court again on Tuesday at Cumberland Valley.
