State College’s Kyla Irwin is the CDT’s Feb. 29 Athlete of the Week

State College girls’ basketball player Kyla Irwin is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.

Irwin became just the second player, male or female, from Centre County to reach 2,000 career points in Saturday’s 52-27 win over Altoona in the PIAA District 6 Class AAAA championship game. Irwin finished with 19 points, 19 rebounds and four blocks.

Irwin and the Lady Little Lions (20-3) play District 7’s No. 4 seed Penn Hills in the opening round of the PIAA Class AAAA state tournament at 6 p.m. Friday in Tyrone.
