Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week: Nick Vanden

State College tennis player Nick Vanden is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.

Vanden, a sophomore, won the District 6 singles tournament on Friday and Saturday and has a record of 18-1 on the season, with his only loss coming narrowly in a 6-4, 7-6 (8) match against Lower Merion.

“Nick has had a great week and an even better season,” said his coach, Jane Borden. “He is only a sophomore and is a great kid and team leader.”

State College is undefeated at 14-0.
