Jordan Bair is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.

Bair, a standout athlete for the State College High School girl’s track and field team, was the team’s only first-place winner at the Mid Penn Championships on Saturday (State College won the meet’s team title) in the shot put. She threw a distance of 38’8.25”. Last week, she threw a season-best distance of 39’5.75” to finish first against Chambersburg.

Bair also finished second in the discus on Saturday with a distance of 114’11”.

Bellefonte’s Tanner Helms is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.

Helms has had a hot bat throughout the Red Raiders’ past few outings. He was 3 for 3 against Bald Eagle Area on Friday, with a three-run home run, a double, a single and four RBIs in the 9-2 victory.

The outfielder also was 2 for 3 with an RBI in a loss to Clearfield on Tuesday and 2 for 3 in a win over Central, meaning Helms is hitting .777 on the week with five RBIs.
