Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week: State College boys track and field

The State College boys track and field team members are the Centre Daily Times Athletes of the Week.

The Little Lions won the Class AAA team title at the PIAA Championships on Saturday, beating runner-up Downingtown West 54-53.

Griffin Thompson, Alex Milligan and the 3,200-meter relay team provided the highlights for State College as it captured its first state title in program history.

On Friday, Thompson won the pole vault title by clearing 16 feet, 3 inches, breaking his school record of 15-10. On Saturday, Milligan won the 1,600 with a time of 4:10.17. The 3,200 relay team of Owen Wing, Nick Feffer, Anthony Degleris and Milligan captured the gold with a time of 7:37.25. It was the best time in the country this spring and set a school record
