Bellefonte’s Adam Armstrong is the CDT’s Athlete of the Week

With his clutch pitching performance keeping his team alive in the state playoffs, Adam Armstrong is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.

The Bellefonte sophomore pitched a one-hitter, allowing just three baserunners, in the Red Raider baseball team’s 1-0 victory over Cathedral Prep in the PIAA Class AAA quarterfinals on Thursday. The left-hander struck out eight, walked one and allowed only a double in the complete-game win, facing just 22 batters.

The Red Raiders meet Hamburg in the state semifinals on Monday.
