Spring Mills’ Tyler Myers shuts out Lemont in County League game
Spring Mills’ Tyler Myers struck out six while scattering a half-dozen hits Sunday to shut out Lemont 7-0 in a Centre County Baseball League game.
Three different Braves boasted two hits apiece — including Brandon Martz (single, triple), Joe Bartolia (two singles) and Corby Woodring (two singles).
Spring Mills scored one run in the first frame and then another in the second, but it put the game out of reach in the fifth with another five runs. In that crucial inning, the Braves had five hits and had another two runners reach on errors.
Spring Mills will next host Spike Island at 2 p.m. Sunday, while Lemont will take on the Clarence Mounties on the road at 6 p.m. Thursday.
