State College Spikes’ turf manager receives award

The State College Spikes’ Matt Neri received New York-Penn League Sports Turf Manager of the Year honors from the Sports Turf Managers Association, the team announced in a press release Tuesday.

It is the fourth time Neri has won the award.

He is among the nominees for the Short-Season/Rookie Sports Turf Manager of the Year award.

Neri has been the Spikes’ turf manager since the team’s first season in 2006.
