The State College Spikes are back in town.

Players arrived at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for the first time around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, after a bus ride from Baltimore/Washington International Airport. They’ll work out for the first time Wednesday night in preparation of a New York-Penn League (Short-Season A) year that kicks off Monday.

The St. Louis Cardinals’ minor-league affiliate won the league title in 2016. They’ll open the season at 7:05 p.m. Monday against Williamsport at home.
